Kesha is “more than eager” to face Dr. Luke in court.
According to Rolling Stone, the singer claims Dr. Luke is attempting to postpone their February 2023 defamation trial in New York by rejecting her repeated attempts to speed up her pre-trial appeals.
In a letter to a New York judge filed Tuesday (August 30th) and obtained by the outlet, Kesha and her lawyers argue that there is no way the upcoming trial can proceed until her two pending appeals are resolved.
Kesha and her lawyer say November is likely the last argument session that would allow the Court of Appeals to decide the issues before a February trial. The “Tik Tok” singer’s lawyer says she “continues to hope” the court will grant it.
The two have been battling it out in court since 2014 with Dr. Luke pursuing Kesha with the claim that she has smeared him with false rape allegations.
