The Sonora Police Department announced the successful apprehension of two wanted fugitives, Otis Babb and Sandra Zaragoza, following a collaborative effort with the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release from the Sonora Police Department, Otis Babb was wanted on three outstanding warrants issued by the City of Sonora Police Department. The three warrants include evading arrest with a vehicle, unlawful carrying of a weapon by a felon and theft of a motor vehicle.
According to the same press release, Sandra Zaragoza was wanted on a Capias Warrant for revocation/adjudication of guilt to revoke probation. Sonora Police Department said the underlying charge is tampering with a government record with intent to defraud or harm.
The Sonora Police Department received a tip regarding the whereabouts of Babb and Zaragoza in the Brewster County area on April 15, 2025. The Sonora Police Department then relayed the information to the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, as a result both individuals were apprehended by a Brewster County Deputy at approximately 4:20 p.m.
“We extend our sincere appreciation to the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance and professionalism in bringing these fugitives into custody,” said the Sonora Police Department.
